The Tampa Bay SynchRays is synchronized swimming club in Tampa, Florida. The club has grown from a show team in 1981 into a nationally competitive program today. The SynchRays compete in four different skill levels as early as age 5: novice, intermediate, age group and masters. The competitive year runs from January to July, with conditioning year round.
Our JO SynchRays all had great swims at the inaugural United States Synchronized Swimming Junior Olympics Championship.
Our 16-17 Team of Kenzee, Diane, Katy, Susannah, Maria, Rylie, Elizabeth and Martina, coached by Darcee and Shay, made FINALS for the first time! Their routine ranked 7th and they placed 10th overall. Maria also placed 16th in the 13-15 solo finals.
We are also very proud of Megan and Marissa and their 13-15 and 11-12 athletes for great swims at their first ever national competition.
There will be two team meetings November 14th, Novice and Intermediates at 8:30am and JOs at 12:00pm in the conference room at Bobby Hicks.
A special congratulations goes out to our 16/19 Junior Olympic coach Darcee Redding, who was married on Saturday, October 3rd in a beautiful backyard ceremony! The Synchrays family is so happy for the new couple and wishes them many blessings in the years ahead.
INDIANAPOLIS - July, 2015 - Twelve-year-old Eva Homan, a 7th grader at St John's
Episcopal School in Tampa, FL, was named the SwimOutlet.com July Swimmer of the
Month by USA Synchronized Swimming. Homan is a member of the Tampa Bay Synchrays and has been swimming for two years. She is a member of the Latin club, knitting club, book club, volleyball, art club, and is a Duke TIP participant. She is also an avid and voracious reader and reads as much as she can get her hands on. She plays volleyball, enjoys biking and skiing, and is learning to snowboard. She volunteers in the church nursery each month and enjoys caring for the two- and three-year-olds. She is involved in a service project at school where she knits blankets for children with cancer.
In addition to swimming as a competitor for the Synchrays, Homan takes extra practices and spends time beyond that at the pool to get better and improve her techniques and skills. She helps novices and her intermediate sister to improve as well. She helps out all of her synchro friends. She helps to grow the sport by encouraging others to join and speaking to classmates and friends about her sport. She even performs for her friends outside of the sport who want to watch and learn. She has had church members, neighbors, family and friends come to see her perform.
Congratulations, Eva! USA Synchro is proud to name you as its SwimOutlet.com Swimmer of the Month!
